Huntsville

Huntsville is nestled alongside the Muskoka River, among stands of tall pine trees of the rocky Canadian Shield and a short drive from the western gate of Algonquin Park. Here you will experience a rich history that is both cherished and preserved. Country roads are dotted with fine old log buildings, grand and modest stone houses, and intricately fitted rail fences. New life has been breathed into a lot of the older buildings that were constructed during the late 1800s and early 1900s. In celebration of the Group of Seven and Tom Thomson's contribution to the area's heritage, some of their best-loved paintings have been reproduced as outdoor murals in the downtown business area.
