This fabulous four-season playground has so much to offer - endless beaches, mountain bike and cross-country trails, Aboriginal history, geological wonders, gaming and live entertainment. Here are some "don't miss" attractions:
  1. Swing through the trees and climb along the peaks at Horseshoe Resort's Treetop Trekking Arbraska, a new, exciting sport involving 70 innovative games in the majestic Horseshoe Valley Forest.
  2. Feel the presence of the Aboriginal past in Midland as you explore life in a 17th-century French-Huron village at Sainte-Marie Among the Hurons - a shrine to Jesuit martyrs.
  3. Walk the soft sands of Wasaga Beach - the world's longest freshwater beach. It also boasts the largest set of parabolic sand dunes in Ontario.
  4. Test lady luck at the casino in Rama where you'll find action-packed excitement 24/7 with gaming tables, slots and top-name entertainers.
  5. Experience true off-road adventure on a network of trails through picturesque landscapes of Hardwood Ski & Bike near Barrie or on the Ganaraska Trail from Port Hope to Penetanguishene.
  6. Stroll along floating boardwalks that let you explore woodlands and wetlands teeming with wildlife as you commune with nature at Midland's Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre.
  7. Venture out to the Collingwood Scenic Caves Nature Preserve and discover rock formations so spectacular that the early Hurons made it a place of worship. Then admire the sweeping view standing in the middle of the equally spectacular suspension bridge.
  8. Clip on your skis and take to the hills around the Town of Blue Mountains - Ontario's largest mountain resort. In warmer weather, enjoy the area's many challenging golf courses.
  9. Learn about the life of Canada's beloved humourist and author at the Stephen Leacock Museum in Orillia the inspiration for his classic, Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town.
  10. Whether you choose to pitch a tent, stay at the Stone Cottage or spend the day on Georgian Bay at Awenda Provincial Park, you'll be in awe of the rich diversity of the area with over 31 species of reptiles and amphibians.
  11. Stroll the beautiful waterside boardwalks of Penetanguishene's Discovery Harbour to a recreated 19th-century British naval base where you can make a model ship, learn sailors' ropework and explore historic vessels.
