Ontario's Wine Regions
Savour the beauty of our sun-kissed landscapes while touring Ontario's three wine producing regions. Discover hectares of vineyards, stellar winemaking traditions, state of the art facilities and culinary treasures along the way.

Consider our suggestions for a fabulous visit to Ontario Wine Country or visit Wines of Ontario for a list of all wineries, route maps and itinerary suggestions.

Niagara Peninsula's Bounty
Nestled in the rolling countryside between Grimsby and Niagara on the Lake and protected by the ridges on the Niagara Escarpment are the wineries of the Niagara Peninsula. Home to over 50 wineries, winemaker's and their staff welcome you to discover the traditions that bring international acclaim to our outstanding wines.

Learn the founding traditions of Inniskillin WinesChâteau des CharmesReif Estates and Hillebrand Estate Winery, and how Ontario's modern day wine pioneers started this journey. Discover the newest wineries along the route, including Fielding WinesStratus Vineyards and Tawse Winery.

Plan your tour around the charming towns and villages that populate the region with historic atmosphere, quaint boutiques, shops and galleries. Take a van tour, hop on a bike or plan your own driving itinerary. It will surely include exceptional winery tours, signature tastings, stunning views, fabulous festivals and premier culinary and accommodation options.

Uncover the riches of the Twenty Valley Region. Linger at the picturesque Vineland Estates. Taste a vintage or two while enjoying the stunning view at Flat Rock Cellars. Stroll the village of Jordan and enjoy a tutored tasting at Cave Spring Cellars. Pair your tasting with artisanal cheese at Henry of Pelham, or savour fine dining at Peninsula Ridge.

Follow Lake Ontario east to picturesque Niagara-on-the-Lake, and consider the architectural splendour of Jackson-Triggs
and Peller Estates, the historic growing traditions at Marynissen Estates and Lailey Vineyard or the opportunity to combine tasting and cooking classes at Strewn Winery. Complement your winery itinerary with a visit to the Shaw Festival, a round of golf at North America's oldest golf course or shopping along historic main streets.

Prince Edward County's Grace
Just west of Kingston, Prince Edward County is Ontario's newest winery destination. The gentle hills of the County wind through countryside dotted with charming farms, vineyards, markets and delectable cheese shops. Amongst the vineyards you'll discover The Grange Winery located in an historic loyalist barn, the modern architecture of Huff Estates, alfresco dining at Waupoos Estates Winery or old world traditions at Closson Chase Vineyards.

Grab a map and graze your way along the Taste Trail. Meet the celebrated personalities whose passions for all things culinary have brought them home to the County. A commitment to the use of the freshest seasonal ingredients is the promise at orchards, ice cream shops, bistros and fine dining establishments. Gracious hospitality beckons you to stay a while at historic inns along the way.

Lake Erie North Shore and Pelee Island Traditions
The oldest commercial grape-growing area in Canada and Ontario's most southerly point, the Lake Erie North Shore and Pelee Island region shares the same latitude as northern California and Bordeaux, France. Explore the shoreline first, then celebrate 25 years of winemaking at Colio Estate Wines in Harrow. Travel east to Kingsville and Pelee Island Winery's main production facility then board the Island Ferry for the delightful cruise to the vineyards and wine pavilion facility. Once on the island take some time to explore the natural beauty and simplicity of the island. Here, and on the mainland's Point Pelee National Park, you'll find an internationally renowned habitat for thousands of unique species and a true birder's paradise.
