One of the largest living history attractions in North America, Fort William Historical Park (FWHP) re-creates the colourful era of the Canadian fur trade and the exploits of the North West Company. The size and scope of the Fort is amazing, a virtual community unto itself, featuring over 42 reconstructed heritage structures. Explore the Native camp, Great Hall, artisans’ square. Meet colourful characters from the past including fur traders, Aboriginals, artisans and farmers. Join in hands-on experiences. Visit the animals on the working farm, go for a paddle in a voyageur canoe, or hop aboard the horse-drawn wagon. Tours, demonstrations, dramatic vignettes and special events are offered throughout the summer. A multi-functional year-round facility, FWHP also features contemporary festivals, conference and banquet facilities, community events, and corporate retreats.
