Click on ADD TO MY TRIP PLANNER below to customize this itinerary.

Due to the distinctive climate and soil conditions created by the Niagara Escarpment and Lake Ontario, the Niagara Peninsula is perfectly suited to growing a number of grape varieties. In addition to this special natural environment, the wine producing process requires unique people with patience, dedication and passion.
Meet winemaking families, some multi-generational, and enjoy stories of talented winemakers, cultured cellar masters, informative staff and innovative proprietors, who are just as engaging and unique as the wines they so carefully create. You’ll want to take turns being the designated driver! Plan your Niagara visit and check out great wine celebrations and events like the Niagara Grape and Wine Festival in September.

DAY ONE
The scenery along Locust Lane in the Beamsville Bench alone is worth the drive. There’s no mystery behind why the Fielding family chose the setting for Fielding Estate Winery, the view from the Wine Lodge is breathtaking. Taste the unique, seasonal white merlot and view authentic memorabilia of one of Canada’s greatest golfers at Mike Weir Winery.
Just off Cherry Avenue, you’ll find the Tawse family-owned winery, proud winners of 2016 Winery of the Year, and Megalomaniac Winery, run by industry leader John Howard. Both the cheeky name and the inspiration for Megalomanic are stories worth hearing.
Take a break
Stop for lunch in a restored 1845 farmhouse at Vineland Estates Winery, run by the Schmidt brothers. Stretch your legs at Balls Falls Conservation Area.
Flat Rock Cellars on Twenty Mile Bench is a father’s dream, realized by his son and grandson (heartstrings officially pulled). The list of accolades is impressive for Sue-Ann Staff, owner of Sue-Ann Staff Estate Winery, a fifth generation grape grower and Ontario Winemaker of the Year winner.
Where to stay
Recharge at Inn on the Twenty, an elegant boutique hotel, restaurant and spa in the village of Jordan, conveniently located across the street from Cave Springs Winery. Guided by the Pennachetti family, Cave Springs produces on the best Rieslings in North America. Sample some with dinner at the Inn Restaurant.

DAY TWO
Start out at Creekside Estates, an Innovator of the Year winner. Tour one of the oldest and largest underground barrel cellars in the region and ask about their experimental wine batches and blends.
13th Street Winery is owned by two families; follow their story in the wine boutique on Fourth Avenue. Don’t leave without sampling a buttertart from 13th Street Bakery. The winegrowing tradition dates back seven generations at Chateau des Charmes.
Lunch break
Experience authentic ‘farm dining’ at Ravine Vineyard Estates Winery.
Two Sisters Vineyard offers a relaxed, laid back experience in setting and in vintages, reflective of owners, Angela Marotta and Melissa Marotta-Paolicelli and winemaker, Adam Pearce, who embrace the ‘less is more’ philosophy. The story of Konzelmann Estate Winery, Niagara’s only lakefront winery, began at the turn of 19th century in a small town in Germany. A guided estate and winery tour will tell the rest of this tale.
Dinnertime
Raise a glass to The Great One at the Wayne Gretzky Winery & Distillery, Niagara's first combined winery and distillery. Winemaker Craig McDonald has traveled across the globe to make Niagara his home. Enjoy his food-friendly wine over dinner in the Trius Winery Restaurant next door.
Where to stay
Check into Riverbend Inn and Vineyard, a Georgian mansion surrounded by acres of vineyards and gardens.

DAY THREE
Pick up a bottle of Peller Estate Winery signature Icewine, sure to make founder, Andrew Peller, immensely proud. Drive along the Niagara Parkway, famously described as the prettiest Sunday afternoon drive in the world by Sir Winston Churchill.
Take a stroll through the Niagara Botanical Gardens and give a nod to the world wonder, Niagara Falls, part of the Niagara Escarpment that facilitated the creation of this delightful wine rich region.
