Sip & Savour The Southwest |

Scroll Down

Farm fresh nosh, original local brews, handcrafted cheeses and old school charm await you in one of the most epicurean pockets of the province.

With a long agricultural tradition, it’s no wonder the counties of Norfolk and Oxford, just southwest of Ontario, exude fertile land and fresh bounty. What may surprise you however, is the diversity of what you can see, do and savour here. Meet the makers, bakers, brewers and shakers.

Taste local wines from small batch vineyards that are mighty big on flavour. Tour Ontario’s first and only craft brewery farm at Ramblin' Road (they grow their own hops) or nurse a pint at a vintage vibe brewery located in what was recently a rural middle school. Dine on tasty, farm-to-table food in the actual home of the chefs at The Combine.

Reach cheese nirvana along a self-guided cheese trail made up of two dozen curated cheese related shops and stops in the ‘dairy capital of Ontario’, including a cheese museum. Passionate turophiles will love the back story at Elm Hurst Inn & Spa, a heritage country inn that was once a legit cheese factory.

Shop for handmade gems, enjoy the beautiful fall foliage kayaking on a waterway referred to as the ‘Canadian Amazon’, learn how to make your own wood charcuterie board and visit a coastal town with such beachy vibes that it actually has palm trees. Honest.

All this, and so much more; just make sure you have enough room in your trunk for all your purchases.
