Our four distinct seasons keep things fresh in Ontario. From summer’s crowd pleasing events and autumn’s wine and harvest gatherings, winter’s light festivals and celebrations, to spring’s sweet maple treats, there’s always something happening in Ontario.


Enjoy winter carnivals that warm you up with exciting events and activities. There’s the annual Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, Ottawa's WinterludeFirst Night in Midland, Sault Ste. Marie's Bon Soo Carnival, Niagara Falls’ Winter Festival of LightsAlight at Night at Upper Canada and the Festival of Northern Lights, in Owen Sound.


Spring brings sweet maple treats at the Elmira Maple Syrup Festival, the Elmvale Maple Syrup Festival, the Bronte Creek Maple Syrup Festival or at Prince Edward County's Maple in the County. Gather with friends and family for firework displays on Victoria Day each May, marvel at the spectacle of colour during the Canadian Tulip Festival in Ottawa.


Celebrate our nation’s birthday, Canada Day, on July 1st across the province. Join the nation’s capital for a giant party on Parliament Hill featuring concerts, fireworks and plenty of red and white or wish our country a happy birthday in Toronto at Mel Lastman Square. There is always a lot going on for Canada Day in Niagara Falls or take to the outdoors – the Canada Day weekend is a popular one at Ontario’s Provincial Parks. Get your camping spot early and take advantage of the natural beauty and great amenities Ontario’s parks have to offer. Other Canada Day fireworks and celebrations include Blue Mountain VillageCanada’s Wonderland and North Bay Waterfront. Toronto heats up every summer with Pride, the Scotiabank Toronto Caribbean Carnival and Luminato Festival.


Ontario rolls out the red carpet each September for the annual Toronto International Film Festival, with celebrity stars and stargazers flocking to Toronto, while downtown Hamilton rocks during Supercrawl, an annual art and indie music festival. Savour the remaining warm evenings during Nuit Blanche, Toronto's free all-night contemporary art event. Relish an assortment of delicious award winning butter tarts at Northumberland's Annual Butter Tart Tour Taste-Off.  Harvest fairs and festivals follow, with the Port Elgin's PumpkinfestNiagara Wine Festival and Bala Cranberry Festival while the kids celebrate Halloween. Experience the award-winning outdoor exhibit of 7,000 hand-carved, lit up pumpkins at night druing Pumpkinferno at Upper Canada Village. Discovery Harbour’s Pumpkinferno also features pumpkins, as well as the Terror Zone! Embark upon a spooky tour at Fort William Historical Park during Haunted Fort Night or join the Celtic celebration of music and dance at the Algoma Fall Festival in October.
