Get up close and personal with butterflies at the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory or Niagara Falls' Butterfly Conservatory. Learn all about indigenous and exotic birds at Bird Kingdom in Niagara Falls and Upper Canada Migratory Bird Sanctuary in Morrisburg. ZOOS AND ANIMAL PARKS
You'll need a full day to visit the Toronto Zoo, with 5000 animals representing over 460 species. Visit Er Shun and Da Mao, two giant pandas on loan from China. Giant pandas are listed as endangered species, and the Toronto Zoo supports a bamboo and habitat restoration project in China as part of this initiative. Drive through African Lion Safari near Hamilton and observe the animals roaming free.
