Taste perfection at Hummingbird Chocolate Maker, a producer of craft small batch dark chocolate. Their Hispaniola Cacao Bar won the Golden Bean 2016, a top honour, at the Academy of Chocolate Awards 2016. Follow the Apple Pie Trail along the quiet country roads in Ontario’s Apple Country or one of the Savour Stratford Culinary Trails; the Chocolate Trail and the Bacon and Ale Trail.

Sample a BeaverTail, delicious pastries topped with your choice of flavours in Ottawa’s Byward Market. Wellington County's Butter Tart Trail includes over a dozen tempting varieties of butter tarts, while The Kawarthas and Northumberland invite you to sample butter tarts from Port Hope to Woodville.  Savour the delectable flavours of Prince Edward County along the Taste Trail.

Fresh apple fritters from local favourite The Fritter Co. in the St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market are a must while visiting Canada’s largest year-round farmers market - and it has lots more to offer hungry patrons too.


Just outside of Jordan the Upper Canada Cheese Company produces exquisite semi-soft artisanal Guernsey milk cheeses. Thunder Oak Cheese Farm, located just outside Thunder Bay is one of the only farms in Ontario that produces the creamy Dutch Gouda cheese.  In Lancaster, stop in at Glengarry Fine Cheese for some award-winning, aged Lankaaster. 


Ontario’s micro-breweries are anything but ordinary. Enjoy the ‘Netherworld Pumpkin Spiced Ale’ at the Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery in Barrie. Mill Street Brewery in east Toronto won Canadian Brewery of the Year for three consecutive years. Creemore Springs brews with an old world philosophy to create good old fashioned pure natural beer. Sample a pint of Grizzly Beer from Toronto’s Bellwoods Brewery or celebrate 15 years of carefully crafted premium Pilsner with Steam Whistle Brewing. Great craft beers in Eastern Ontario include Barley Days in Prince Edward County, Beau’s, Clocktower Brew Pub, Kichesippi, and Big Rig in Ottawa.  Speciality brews salute the lakes and rivers and endless wilderness of the north at Lake of Bays Brewery in Baysville.

Tour Ontario’s only Sake brewery at Ontario Spring Water Company in Toronto, or sample finely crafted spirits at small batch distilleries such as Dillon’s in Beamsville or Bloomfield’s 66 Gilead Distillery.

Toast the apple with a premium hand-crafted apple cider at Thornbury Cider near Blue Mountain Resort. Sample creative flavours at County Cider Company in Prince Edward County such as peach, pear and blood-orange infused ciders. Taste the range and variety of Ontario’s craft ciders.
